This presentation starts with a simple block of code written by the Lazy Programmer, to observe how laziness made the code more compact and simpler. We then define the Principle of Least Authority(POLA), and explain why it is a best practice for secure programming. We show how laziness in that first example enabled enforcement of POLA. We then put the Lazy Programmer through a series of increasingly more difficult tasks as management attempts to make the Lazy Programmer work hard. To achieve maximum laziness, the Lazy Programmer is driven toward increasingly more modular, encapsulating OO designs that happen to implement POLA; ultimately compelled to build systems with defense in depth to avoid work. A secret truth is thus revealed: lazy OO programmers have been using secure techniques for decades, if only they had known. We then describe the tools that turn laziness into correctly enforced security for JavaScript, Java, and distributed computing. Marc Stiegler is a researcher at Hewlett-Packard Labs who has written "Introduction to Capability Based Security," and designed CapDesk and Polaris, a windows overlay that isolates applications from one another to allow virus safe computing.

What was believed was the cortex initiates an automatic knee-jerk response: Behavioural - we jump back; Physiological - we increase our blood pressure and adrenalin to fight or flight, and then an Immunological response in case the system is damaged in some way. But in fact, back in 1994, Joseph LeDoux and his team discovered this pathway to this guy called the amygdala. Now the amygdala is a key emotional centre in the brain, and what they discovered was that it was the amygdala that initiates the response, not the cortex. In fact, even more important than that, the amygdala initiates the response before the information reaches the cortex. Now, because the amygdala is there to keep us alive, it's actually not very accurate, but very high speed, and the cortex is very accurate, but relatively slow. So, we've initiated a response; activated a response before the information even reaches the cortex. Why does that matter? Well, the cortex is where we learn new things; it's where we learn how to behave. So what we call default behaviours today—and a perfect example of that would be road-rage—so we might get involved in some altercation on the road, we get very frustrated and angry with somebody, then a moment later we realise we perhaps overreacted; because that's ...

Intex 24' metal anatomy pool

Intex 24 foot metal frame pool with Intex Salt Water System. I installed landscaping bender board around the pool and filled it with wood chips, added a few plants and a mini deck and gravel/paver walkway out to the pool. Added the umbrella and base for those really hot days. Eventually the filter and pump will be houses in a Rubbermaid footlocker that you can pick up at Home Depot for $90. I also want to add several more plants around the pool. We have had this pool for about two months and the kids love it. I have had to clean the Saltwater system once due to the hard water in our area. I also made a small fountain/waterfall using PVC. Online a similar one (but much smaller) was $40. This one was built for maybe $10. I used a circular saw and cut slots in the pipe then glued it all together to mate up to the outlet on the water filter system.

2 guys breaking into my house

My surveillance system caught these 2 guys kicking in my door and breaking into my house. My alarm is on a delay and as you can see once the siren went off the bolted out of the place. Lucky for me they didn't end up actually stealing anything, although they were trying to steal a computer when the alarm scared them off. Now let's hope the police will catch them.

Dalia Dippolito Calls Her Husband From Jail [Full Call]

Dalia Dippolito calls her husband Mike Dippolito from jail, shortly after being arrested for hiring a hit man to murder her husband. The "hit man" was actually an undercover cop. During the call, Dalia says she never gave anyone any money. It turns out that not only did the police have video of her meeting with the "hit man," they also had video of her meeting with the informant and giving him $1200 and photos of her husband. During this phone call, Dalia knew about the hit man video, but didn't know about the informant video. Whoops! ---- Aug 5, 2009 ... A South Florida woman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly hiring an undercover police officer to kill her husband of six months, authorities said. Dalia Dippolito, 26, was charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder and taken to the Palm Beach County jail, Boynton Beach Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said. Bond had not yet been set and it was unclear if she had an attorney. Dippolito gave an informant pictures of her husband, 38-year-old Michael Dippolito, and $1200 for a hit man to purchase a handgun, according to a probable cause affidavit. She also offered to create an alibi for herself and detailed her husband's daily schedule. An undercover officer posing as a hit man called Dippolito on Monday afternoon and arranged a meeting.
